About Elizabeth

writer, nonprofit founder, podcaster and speaker

I believe the most meaningful growth begins when we're willing to stay present with ourselves. Even in life's most difficult moments. My work is rooted in the belief that resilience isn't about avoiding hardship, but about learning to move through it with courage, compassion, and connection.

I've always been drawn to the conversations most people avoid. The ones that ask us to slow down, tell the truth, and discover who we are beneath the roles we play and who we present ourselves to be to the world.

I'm a speaker, writer, and founder of the national nonprofit Mind What Matters, a 501(c)(3) organization that has provided more than 300 respite care grants to family caregivers across 42 states. Through our podcast, Mind What Matters, my co-host, Nikki DeLoach, and I explore the intersection of mental health, resilience, caregiving, and the human experience. At the heart of my work is one simple belief: the way we think shapes the way we live. Meaningful change begins with becoming more aware of ourselves, the experiences that have shaped us, and the ways we've learned to cope. Some healthy, some not.

In March 2027, my debut book, Too Bad About That, will be published. Inspired by my experience caring for my mother through early-onset Alzheimer's disease, it is a deeply personal story about caregiving, grief, family, resilience, and finding hope in the midst of life's hardest moments. More than anything, it's an invitation to discover that we are capable of carrying far more than we ever imagined.

Whether I'm speaking from a stage, writing, or sitting down for an honest conversation on a podcast, my goal is always the same: to make difficult conversations feel possible, to encourage people to stay with themselves instead of running from what they feel, and to remind them that healing begins with awareness, understanding, and the courage to feel our emotions, not avoid them.

I'm so glad you're here.

Inquire about speaking:

Some conversations change the room. Others change the way we see ourselves. I partner with organizations, conferences, podcasts, and communities to create both. Through storytelling, psychology, and practical insight, I speak on resilience, caregiving, mental health, brain health, and Alzheimer's prevention, helping audiences move beyond inspiration toward lasting awareness, connection, and meaningful change
